Everything You Need to Know About the Newline Classroom Tools

The Classroom Tools widget is active in the background until the teacher needs it. As an overlay, the teacher can open the tools menu even after navigating between screens. This cuts down transition time and the number of devices needed throughout the day, such as a timer, stopwatch, and more!

Classroom Tools Overview

Here’s a closer look at the nine tools available on the Classroom Tools widget:

Instructions: Alert the students on how they should be completing their work (in groups, with a neighbor, or alone in silence) using image cues.

Traffic light: A simulated traffic light, where you can manually switch between colors to manage classroom transitions or activities.

Dice: A digital die or dice, perfect for quick math demonstrations and activities.

Timer: Our #1 requested tool. Use it for tests, classroom activities, or any time-sensitive tasks.

Stopwatch: Track time and clock laps with the built-in stopwatch tool.

Calendar: Easy access to a simple calendar to manage dates, schedules, and classroom events.

Zoom in: Emphasize something on the screen by zooming in for closer viewing and attention.

Spotlight: Draw attention to a specific point on the screen while blocking out the rest of the content for focus.

Curtain: Add a special effect by unveiling the screen with curtains that open from the middle, perfect for dramatic reveals.

How to Use the Classroom Tools Widget

Use any combination of these apps together and resize them for your convenience. When you’re finished, minimize the widget menu and drag the box to a corner of the screen. The tools will remain active in the background until they’re needed again, helping to streamline your teaching process and keep everything within reach.
